Wanderlust: The New Eye Movement Therapy
ETT trained therapists witness the convenience and power of wands in practice on a regular basis. We know how to apply the power of color with wand intervention to traumatic events to amplify the effectiveness of attuning to the client’s distress. But, we may not fully understand the importance of the mechanics and the apparent function of saccadic eye movement in the maintenance of trauma in the brain. This presentation will use literature, video and case examples to demonstrate and re-acquaint the participant with the nature of saccadic eye movement versus smooth-pursuit eye movement.
Objectives:
1) To acquaint the participant with the literature and function of eye movement in observation and storage of perceived events in the brain
2) To use video to demonstrate saccadic eye movement related to a client’s distress as distinct from smooth eye movement related to report of material with no distressing emotional charge
3) To reinforce the principles and methods for the use of wands with distressing events
